1.5.9.1 retenční index alkaloidů v cigaretovém filtru Rnic
poměr alkaloidů zadržených ve filtru k alkaloidům, které do filtru vstupují, vyjádřený hmotnostním zlomkem:
POZNÁMKA Retenční index alkaloidů může být stanoven následovně:
a) Přímo, měřením hmotnosti alkaloidů zadržených filtrem a hmotností alkaloidů v hlavním toku kouře, který opouští filtr:

Hnic hmotnost alkaloidů v hlavním toku kouře, který opouští filtr;
Snic hmotnost alkaloidů vstupujících do filtru [viz (A) na obrázku 2].
b) Nepřímo, měřením rozdílu mezi hmotností alkaloidů obsažených v hlavním toku kouře, který opouští cigaretu s filtrem (A) a odpovídající hmotnosti z jiné cigarety s odstraněným materiálem filtru (B), jejíž vykouřená délka je stejná, jako odpovídající délka cigarety s filtrem (A):

a) Directly, by measurement of the mass of alkaloids retained by the filter and of the mass of alkaloids in the mainstream smoke leaving the filter:

Fnic is the mass of alkaloids retained by the filter;
Hnic is the mass of alkaloids in the mainstream smoke leaving the filter;
Snic is the mass of alkaloids entering the filter [see (A) in Figure 2].
b) Indirectly, by measurement of the difference between the mass of alkaloids contained in the mainstream smoke from a cigarette with filter (A) and of the corresponding mass from another cigarette with filter material removed (B), the smoked length of which is the same as that of the filter cigarette (A):
