Technical Standards Committees
TNKs are expert advisory bodies of the Czech Standardization Agency (hereinafter referred to as the “Agency”). Their task is to comprehensively assess standardization issues within the defined scope of their field of activity, to issue expert opinions on these matters, and to propose appropriate solutions.
The activities of TNKs are based on the principle of the involvement of various interest groups in society in achieving mutually beneficial solutions to standardization tasks. Representatives appointed to TNKs advocate for the interests of those they represent and strive to reach consensus on the issues at hand.
TNK primarily assess, discuss, and process proposals for the development of national, European, and international standards, or proposals for other standardization tasks/projects; they recommend methods for addressing them and evaluate proposals for their implementation; they discuss proposals for standardization tasks/projects related to the development of Czech technical standards, proposals for their amendments, revisions, and cancellations, particularly in connection with the announcement of these tasks in European or international standardization organizations.
The Agency does not cover costs associated with participation in the work of the TNK or its working bodies. An organization that submits a proposal to the Agency for the appointment of its representative to the TNK bears the full costs associated with membership in the TNK.
Membership in the TNK is free of charge.
