Product Placement Portal

The publicly accessible "Product Placement on the Market" portal, which is being launched on its website by the Czech Office for Standardization, Metrology, and Testing (ÚNMZ), was developed by the Institute for Testing and Certification, a.s. in Zlín with significant support from members of SGP-STANDARD,   with individual chapters referencing publicly accessible websites and database systems developed and updated as part of specific projects for ÚNMZ and the Czech Standardization Agency (ČAS).

This portal provides publicly available information on regulations and standards for placing products on the single European market. It is intended primarily for manufacturers, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as distributors, importers, certification personnel, and other experts involved in the product assessment and approval process.

1) It facilitates quick navigation through regulations and standards related to placing products on the single European market ;

2) It explains the conditions for CE marking, requirements for specified products, possibilities for mutual recognition, and the obligations of economic operators;

3) It provides information on general safety, consumer protection, and the activities and responsibilities of supervisory authorities;

4) It contains overviews of ČSN, STN, EN, and ISO standards related to management systems;

5) It provides general information on Czech (ČSN), Slovak (STN), European (EN), and international (ISO/IEC) standards, their classification, and search options. Customers who have purchased any version of the ČSN Online service from the ČAS Agency to view the full texts of Czech technical standards in PDF (see corporate version or individual version); after logging into the system, the full text of the relevant ČSN standards can be opened on this portal;

6) It clearly organizes information on harmonized and designated standards, including search options;

7) It provides categorization of American standards (ASTM) with the option to view previews, links to search the German standards database (DIN), etc.;

8) It provides detailed information for individual sectors, e.g., mechanical engineering, the electrical industry, toys and children’s products, the automotive industry, medical devices, construction products, the footwear industry, personal protective equipment, hazardous substances, etc.


Note 1: Users who have subscribed to the ČSN Online service from the Czech Standardization Agency (ČAS) on their PC can open cited ČSN standards directly from certain pages of this portal. When opening the first standard, a script will appear where you must log in using the credentials received from ČAS. After logging in for the first time and checking “Do not ask again and display standards directly,” this setting will be saved in cookies, and standards can be opened directly from this page without further login. If the login is incorrect, you must first delete the cookies here and log in again. If the standards do not display, you must adjust your PC’s security settings to allow standards to open consecutively no sooner than 30 seconds apart.
